A teenager was sentenced to life for murdering Glen Osborne at the Central Criminal Court on 16 December 2020, with the sentence due for review in January 2030. The killing happened during a fight outside Ballybough House in Ballybough, Dublin, on 15 April 2020.

The teenager, who cannot be named because of his age, stabbed Mr Osborne once in the chest after taking a knife from a bag. The court treated bringing the knife and reaching for it while Mr Osborne was unarmed as aggravating factors.

The court heard that the pair had fallen out after a drugs transaction and that angry messages were exchanged before the killing. Mr Osborne’s mother and fiancée described the impact of his death on his family.
