Gayle Dunne loses bid to halt €100m asset transfer case

By Fionn Kelly

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Gayle Dunne lost her application to halt proceedings over alleged €100m asset transfers in a judgment reported on 27 July 2016. The proceedings concern alleged transfers from bankrupt developer Sean Dunne to his wife.

Justice Caroline Costello dismissed the application after finding that Ireland had the most real and substantial connection to the dispute. She also found that Mrs Dunne had not shown another jurisdiction was more convenient, or that continuing the proceedings would be an abuse of process or cause injustice.

The assets included interests in Irish properties and entities held through an Irish company. The matter was adjourned to a date in October.
