Garofita Selin collapsed while giving evidence at the Central Criminal Court murder trial on 22 March 2022. The proceedings were reported on 22 March 2022.

Feri Anghel was charged with murdering Ioan Artene Bob at a location in Co Dublin on 13 April 2018. He pleaded not guilty.

Ms Selin was being cross-examined by defence counsel Padraig Dwyer SC about alleged contradictions in her statements concerning her claim that Mr Anghel had made a “scary” pass at her. Mr Dwyer had put it to her that Mr Anghel had never acted inappropriately towards her at work, but she fell from her chair before she could respond.

Ms Selin fell unconscious and was attended to for 35 minutes before emergency services arrived. She was given oxygen and taken from court by wheelchair. Mr Justice Paul Burns sent the jury home and adjourned the case for the rest of the day.
