Three men arrested in connection with an alleged €10.1 million cannabis seizure in Co. Louth have been further remanded in custody.

Graham Sommers (37) Moscow Drive, Liverpool; Brian Coleman (38), Glasanaon Road, Finglas, Dublin 11 and Alan O’Neill (56), Coolfore House, Hill of Rath, Drogheda; are each accused of the unlawful possession of cannabis and having the drug for sale or supply at a unit at Newtownstalaban, Drogheda, on January 30 last.

All three were remanded in custody when brought before a special sitting of Dundalk District Court the following evening.

On Wednesday, a prison officer advised the court via video link that a sick note had been produced for Mr O'Neill.

Judge Nicola Andrews remanded him in custody in his absence to Drogheda Court on February 16.

Mr Sommers was also remanded in custody to the same date, and following a contested bail hearing, Mr Coleman was refused bail and remanded in custody to Drogheda Court on February 9 for DPP directions.
