Frank Reidy ruling set aside in assault case

By Eimear Byrne

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The High Court set aside a February default judgment against Sablecross Limited in Frank Reidy’s civil claim alleging assault and false imprisonment. The proceedings were reported on 24 October 2024.

Reidy alleges that security personnel assaulted him and forcefully removed him from Croke Park after the 2018 All-Ireland Hurling final. Sablecross disputed his account, asserting that he became abusive and aggressive after being asked to leave. Ms Justice Denise Brett said the case against the GAA had a full defence and was awaiting a hearing date, while the judgment against Sablecross was set aside because of correspondence and address errors.
