Four family members were convicted of child rape and sexual assault at the Central Criminal Court, reported on 25 May 2023. They will be sentenced later this year.

A father and three sons were found guilty of more than 100 counts involving four child family members. The jury returned guilty verdicts on 117 of the 126 counts they faced. Their mother and grandmother was also found guilty of assisting her son to conceal the rape of a granddaughter and of assaulting that child.

The offences took place at different locations around the country between 1999 and 2004. Sentencing was adjourned for mention in July while impact reports were prepared for the victims and a probation report for the woman.
