This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Martin Connolly was awarded €16,667 after the Workplace Relations Commission found that Dundalk Town FC unfairly dismissed him, reported on 17 April 2025.

Adjudicator Kara Turner found there were no substantial grounds for ending Connolly’s employment and no conduct by him, or other issue raised, that warranted the way his employment was terminated. The award covered financial loss attributable to the dismissal.

The compensation reflected four months out of work after the club stopped paying him in May 2024. The adjudicator noted that Connolly had supplied evidence of job applications from March to May 2024, but had not provided documentary evidence of reasonable efforts to reduce his losses from June to August 2024.
