By Eimear Byrne

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Fianait Bligh was ordered to pay the Ice Skating Association of Ireland’s legal costs at the High Court on 15 November 2016 after her failed bid to compel selection for international skating events.

Mr Justice Paul Gilligan had dismissed her application for mandatory orders after she claimed the association had made representations about selection if she met certain criteria. The judge noted that her claims had been dismissed and that the association had also been vindicated by Just Sport Ireland, an independent dispute resolution service for Irish sport.
