Giving evidence in Alan Wilson's murder trial, Fergus O'Hanlon claimed he had survived a gun attack. The proceedings were reported on 21 July 2014. Wilson denied murdering Mariora Rostas in 2008.
During cross-examination on 21 July 2014, O'Hanlon claimed a lone gunman shot him five times in the back as he walked towards Rathmines three years after Rostas was killed. He said he survived because he was wearing a bulletproof vest, but Gardaí found no evidence of the alleged shooting.
O'Hanlon also claimed he helped Wilson dispose of Rostas’s body. The trial was due to resume hearing evidence the following day.
