Facebook and Twitter order extended over murder posts

A Central Criminal Court order requiring Facebook and Twitter to remove material identifying Ana Kriegel’s killers was extended on 26 July 2019. The order followed concerns that photographs of the two boys convicted of murdering the Kildare schoolgirl were being circulated online.

The boys were identified only as Boy A and Boy B, and their identities were protected by law and by an order made by the trial judge. The court heard that both platforms were co-operating with the order.
