Eugene Costello loses appeal over livestock injunctions

By Rory Hanlon

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Eugene Costello lost his appeal against livestock injunctions in the Court of Appeal on 30 October 2018. The orders restrained him from placing animals on secured lands or obstructing their sale.

The court upheld the High Court orders made on 5 July 2017 and dismissed his separate application to have Carlisle Mortgages’ proceedings struck out. It rejected his argument that the lender needed to renew an execution order of possession before seeking further injunctions.
