Eric Locke’s murder trial heard DNA evidence at the Central Criminal Court, reported on 10 May 2017. He admits causing Sonia Blount’s death but denies murder, while the prosecution alleges he killed her in a Tallaght hotel in February 2014.

The court heard that DNA matching Locke was found in samples from Blount’s fingernails, breast, forehead, bedsheets and pillowcase. DNA matching Blount was also found on bloodstained jeans belonging to Locke, according to forensic evidence reported to the court.
