Eric Eoin Marques may seek judicial review of the DPP’s decision not to prosecute him in Ireland over charges of conspiring to distribute and advertise child pornography, and advertising and distributing child pornography. The proceedings were reported on 28 January 2014.

Counsel for Marques, Mícheál P O’Higgins SC, told the court that he and a new legal team had just come on record and sought a three-week adjournment to advise his client about the Damache case and possible judicial review. Mr Justice John Edwards remanded Marques in custody until February 18th.

The extradition court had previously heard that the DPP decided not to bring proceedings against Marques in Ireland. A detailed letter indicated that he would enter a guilty plea if the offences were prosecuted in this jurisdiction.
