Emily Stewart received a fully suspended six-month sentence for assault causing harm at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 23 July 2018. She had pleaded guilty to assaulting Shannon Ryan on a Dublin Bus outside Connolly Station, Dublin, on 10 March 2017, and to separately assaulting Sabrina Ryan two days later.

The court heard that Stewart pulled hair from Shannon Ryan’s head, leaving her with facial scratches, and later bit, punched and scraped Sabrina Ryan. Judge Martin Nolan ordered Stewart to pay €750 to each victim within one year, noting tensions between the families.
