Dylan Lynch was jailed for six years following an assault on a teenage girl and an earlier robbery and assault. The proceedings were reported on 27 March 2019.
Lynch pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to assaulting the girl at his Tallaght home on 21 July 2018.
Judge Melanie Greally imposed a three-year sentence for that assault, to run consecutively to a four-and-a-half-year term for robbery and assault with a vodka bottle committed three months earlier. Lynch had been on bail for those offences when he attacked the girl.
The judge suspended the last 18 months on condition that Lynch engage with the Probation Service for 18 months. She said she had taken account of his youth, childhood trauma, remorse and drug addiction issues.
