This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The Dublin man’s sentence appeal over rape convictions was struck out by the Court of Appeal on 16 June 2016. He had been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Central Criminal Court on 4 October 2010 after conviction for repeatedly raping his two daughters and sexually abusing his son. His conviction appeal had previously been dismissed on all grounds. His barrister told the court that he had died, meaning the sentence appeal could not proceed. Mr Justice Garrett Sheehan then said the court would strike out the appeal.
