This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The unnamed Dublin man pleaded not guilty to oral rape charges at the Central Criminal Court, reported on 8 April 2021. He also denied assault causing harm and producing an article to unlawfully intimidate, with the alleged offences said to have occurred at the family home in Dublin between 28 March 2001 and 27 March 2006.

During the continuing trial, a brother alleged that the accused repeatedly abused the complainant, including using objects and placing a pillow over the witness’s face after he entered a bedroom. Another sibling described alleged beatings with a nailed and glass-covered stick, the use of a handgun and forcing the complainant to go robbing.

The defence disputed the extent of the alleged violence and said the sexual abuse did not happen, while witnesses rejected suggestions that they had exaggerated or coordinated their evidence.
