Dominik Biber was sentenced to 13 years’ imprisonment, with the final two years suspended for four years, for attempted murder. Mr Justice Paul McDermott imposed the sentence at the Central Criminal Court on 12 December 2022.

Biber pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of Tomasz Grosser at Ormston House on Ellen Street in Limerick on 11 April 2020. He also pleaded guilty to falsely imprisoning Mr Grosser and to burglary at a neighbouring apartment while in possession of two knives. The proceedings were reported on 12 December 2022.

The burglary and false imprisonment charges were taken into account at sentencing. The judge set a 17-year headline sentence and reduced it by four years for Biber’s early guilty plea, admissions to gardaí and genuine remorse.
