Derek Moore granted one-week family holiday before sentencing for serious crash

By Saoirse Doyle

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Derek Moore, also known as Derek “Del Boy” Hutch, was granted permission to travel abroad for one week on a family holiday while awaiting sentence for dangerous driving that seriously injured Valentyna Linck. Dublin Circuit Criminal Court varied his bail conditions after Judge Orla Crowe heard he had complied with previous travel permissions; Garda Shane Noone had objected, saying Moore was awaiting sentence in a serious case and Linck wanted the case dealt with.

Moore pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing serious harm to Linck, as well as two dangerous-driving counts and driving under the influence of an intoxicant, arising from a May 27, 2022 crash on Amiens Street. The sentencing hearing had been adjourned to allow him to undergo detoxification from benzodiazepines before starting medication for newly diagnosed ADHD. His sentencing was due to be finalised on June 29, 2026.
