Dean Flynn’s assault sentences reduced on appeal

Dean Flynn, 25, had pleaded guilty to assaulting two gardaí at Waterford Circuit Criminal Court.

On appeal, the Court of Appeal quashed the original sentence and imposed four years, with nine months suspended, for the assault on one garda; the sentences ran concurrently.

The case was recorded in December 2021.
