David Drumm’s trial on charges of conspiring to defraud depositors and investors was adjourned by the court on 7 April 2017 because of legal issues. The alleged offending concerned claims that Anglo Irish Bank deposits in 2008 were €7.2 billion larger than they were.

A jury had been due to be sworn in for a three-month trial on 21 April, but Judge Karen O’Connor said a new date would be set on 27 April. Drumm also faces a charge concerning the EU transparency directive and had not entered a plea, according to the report.

This report covers an earlier stage of the case. Later developments are not reported here.
