Daniel Webb pleaded guilty to two counts of active and passive corruption at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. Judge Orla Crowe adjourned the case for finalisation until 6 October 2023. The proceedings were reported on 26 July 2023.
The charges concerned information from the Garda Pulse system that former civilian employee Holly Hayden sent him on 6 and 9 September 2019. She received cocaine in exchange for providing information on both occasions.
The report said 17 lines of intelligence relating to Webb and people associated with him were sent, along with screenshots of the system. Detective Sergeant James King agreed with defence counsel James Dwyer that messages from Webb’s phone showed he had, at one point, encouraged Hayden not to look up more information.
The court adjourned the case for finalisation.
