Daniel McDonnell sentenced for threatening prison officer

Daniel McDonnell, 28, pleaded guilty to threatening to kill or cause serious harm to a prison officer at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court and received a two-year sentence.

The offence occurred at Wheatfield Prison on 12 August 2021; the sentence was backdated to 2 May 2023.

The case was recorded in June 2023.
