This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Craig O’Donoghue was jailed for contempt of court for two months at the Central Criminal Court on 21 July 2021, after travelling to Cyprus instead of giving evidence.

O’Donoghue had been ordered to testify in a trial concerning a teenager charged with violent disorder at the scene of Cameron Blair’s murder.

He left Ireland for Ayia Napa on 27 May, after being served with the witness order on 3 May; he returned on 2 July and was arrested at Dublin Airport.

Justice Keane described the contempt as deliberate and persistent. The court imposed a three-month headline term, reduced by one month after considering mitigation, and fined O’Donoghue €1,000, payable within nine months.
