The Court of Appeal has reserved its decision on whether to impose life sentences in the murder cases involving Cameron Blair and Urantsetseg Tserendorj. The men had each previously been sentenced to life in prison with a review after 13 years, but must be resentenced after a Supreme Court ruling on detention reviews for children convicted of murder.
The appeal hearing was reported on 11 December 2025. Mr Justice John Edwards said the judges would realistically not give their rulings until after Christmas. One defendant had pleaded guilty at an early stage; his counsel said he was a child under the law, that there was no premeditation and that the case did not warrant life imprisonment.
