Court of Appeal dismisses Jason O'Driscoll's conviction appeal

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The Court of Appeal has dismissed Jason O'Driscoll's appeal against his conviction for the murders of Anthony Burnett and Joseph Redmond. The court found the expert evidence identifying vehicles in CCTV footage was admissible and refused permission to add a ground based on a prosecution expert's social media post.

The appeal was heard by a reconstituted court after it was adjourned in June 2025 because one of the judges had overseen O'Driscoll's original trial. O'Driscoll was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2018 after a retrial jury convicted him by a ten to two majority verdict.
