Costel Tudor was jailed for two and a half years at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, reported on 30 November 2017, after pleading guilty to dishonestly taking a bank card, attempting to take cash and fraudulently withdrawing money. The offences involved a Bank of Ireland ATM in Ranelagh and later withdrawals in Dublin city centre.

The sentences were concurrent, and the prison term was backdated to June, when Tudor went into custody. The court heard that Tudor had 29 previous theft convictions from the Netherlands, Finland, Germany and the UK, while the bank reimbursed a victim €845 taken in three transactions.
