By Fionn Kelly

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

CityJet remained in examinership, with job losses expected, according to a report published on 23 June 2020. Its examiner was due to report to the High Court on 25 June.

Chief executive Pat Byrne said the airline had lost four of its five major contracts, while its fleet had been grounded since March and operations were only gradually restarting.

He said CityJet employed 1,175 people when the coronavirus struck but could have fewer than 500 if it successfully emerged from examinership. Forsa assistant general secretary Ian McDonnell said all pilots were again under threat of redundancy, with some potentially relocating to Scandinavian bases.

This report covers an earlier stage of the case. Later developments are not reported here.
