Vladislovas Jurevicius pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to possessing a card with intent to commit theft, five sample counts of stealing diesel, and cultivating cannabis plants. The proceedings were reported on May 28, 2025.
The diesel theft counts related to Applegreen service station on Ballymount Avenue, Dublin, between August 2023 and February 2024. The cultivation charge related to his home at Greenfield Heights, Rathwire, Co Westmeath, on February 10, 2024. He had no previous convictions.
Detective Garda Stephen Neilan said 32 transactions were made with one cloned company fuel card and 12 with a second, with an estimated loss of €25,000. The court heard that 35 cannabis plants, estimated to be worth €28,000, were found at Jurevicius’s home.
Neilan agreed with defence counsel Darren Lalor BL that Jurevicius was “essentially a cog” in an operation run by others. Lalor said he was directed by others and acted to pay off debts. Jurevicius claimed he was not looking after the plants and had agreed to let his house be used to cultivate them; Neilan said he was the sole occupant.
The court heard that Jurevicius had €5,000 in court to give to the injured party as a token of remorse and hoped to save more. Judge Elva Duffy ordered a probation report and adjourned the matter to October 6 to allow him to save more money for the injured party.
