Caroline Teltsch wins €800,000 damages over loan dispute

By Donal Gilhooly

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Caroline Teltsch was awarded more than €800,000 in damages in the High Court on 25 July 2024, after the court found the Carlow couple had unjustly enriched themselves with money she loaned them. The ruling also addressed land near the equestrian centre and ownership of a stallion.

The court made orders in Teltsch’s favour against James Buckley and Paula Buckley. The report says the claim was uncontested at the hearing; their defence had been struck out after they failed to comply with an order to disclose documents, although they had denied the claims.
