Cabhrú secures arrest order over occupation of Dublin property

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Cabhrú Housing Association secured a High Court arrest order against people accused of contempt over occupying its Dublin property on 6 July 2023.

Mr Justice Conor Dignam ordered gardaí to arrest and bring before the High Court all persons refusing to leave James McSweeney House on Berkeley Street, Dublin 7.

The order followed an earlier refusal by Mr Justice Rory Mulcahy, who cited insufficient evidence about occupants’ identities and whether they knew of the earlier order to vacate.

The court was satisfied Cabhrú and hired security firms had made every effort to identify occupants and provide them with copies of the order.

The application was adjourned to a date later in July; the reports do not specify the day.
