Buti Sashi was jailed for four and a half years for assaulting two sex workers at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, reported on 15 February 2024.

He pleaded guilty to assault causing harm and assault causing serious harm, alongside aggravated burglary, robbery and false imprisonment charges arising from two attacks in 2017.

In one attack, Sashi stabbed a woman seven times; she suffered stab wounds described in court as potentially life-threatening and a fractured eye socket.

The four-and-a-half-year term was ordered to run consecutively to a sentence he was already serving, with an earliest possible release date of 23 June 2029 on that sentence.
