Brendan Mullin was jailed for three years for stealing more than €500,000 from Bank of Ireland at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 25 November 2024.
The thefts took place while Mullin was managing director of Bank of Ireland Private Bank, between 2011 and 2013.
A jury convicted him on 12 of 14 charges, including theft and false accounting, earlier that month. The court heard the money had been repaid before the investigation or proceedings began.
Judge Martin Nolan said the offending was very serious and imposed a custodial sentence. He accepted that Mullin was remorseful and that the case delay had been traumatic.
