This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

The High Court ordered unnamed occupiers of a Blessington Street building to leave by 6pm on 16 July 2019. The property at 42 and 43 Blessington Street, Dublin 7, was described as unsafe for habitation.

Ms Justice Leonie Reynolds granted the owners’ injunctions against several persons unknown, requiring them to leave. The judge said evidence had been given of health and safety concerns, the absence of a current fire safety certificate and a lack of insurance due to the illegal occupation.

No occupier appeared in court and no representations were made on their behalf. The owners said the building did not comply with building regulations. The report said works had been planned to make it compliant with fire safety regulations.
