Bench warrant issued for Donal Maguire over harassment charges

Judge Mary Ellen Ring issued a bench warrant for Donal Maguire’s arrest on 20 October 2014 after he failed to appear at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. He had been due to be arraigned, when he would indicate how he intended to plead to the charges.

Maguire was charged with harassing a woman at a location in Dublin over a period in 2012. He was also charged with harassing the same woman at a location in Dublin on dates in 2012 and early 2013.

At his court appearance the previous July, Judge Mary Ellen Ring had remanded Maguire on continuing bail to appear on 20 October. Ronan Kennedy BL, defending, told the court at that July appearance that his client had discharged himself from a hospital in Sligo to attend court.
