Artur Celmer’s extradition proceedings continued in the High Court after Ms Justice Donnelly dismissed Fair Trials Europe’s application to join the case as amicus curiae on 23 March 2018.
The court held that the CJEU’s procedural rules did not allow Fair Trials Europe to participate because it was not involved in the first-instance proceedings. The court also found that the parties’ legal representatives had already addressed the questions for referral.
