Anthony Stokes received a two-year suspended sentence for assault causing harm at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. The proceedings were reported on 1 February 2017. The offence happened at Buck Whaleys on Leeson Street in Dublin on 8 June 2013. Stokes had pleaded guilty to assault causing harm to Anthony Bradley. The report said the plea was entered the previous November. Bradley suffered a fractured nose and two broken teeth.

Stokes had €30,000 in court towards Bradley’s medical costs, which Bradley accepted. The court heard that civil proceedings were continuing in the High Court. Judge Patricia Ryan described the assault as serious and suspended the sentence on strict conditions, accepting Stokes’s apology and payment as a practical expression of remorse.
