Anthony McDonald told the Dublin District Coroner’s Court inquest on 21 November 2023 that fuses at the Stardust would blow regularly and DJ equipment was set up without an electrician supervising.
He agreed the equipment, including about 50 or 60 light boxes, ran through four plugboards and that the DJs were probably operating at the limit of the available electrical supply. The inquest also heard his account that Exit 3 was locked during the fire and was forced open after a group kicked the doors.
