Anthony Graham was sentenced to three years in prison, with the final 18 months suspended for 24 months, for robbery at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
He pleaded guilty to robbing then 81-year-old Rita Murphy of her handbag on St Margaret’s Road, Finglas, on 6 January 2018. The proceedings were reported on 3 December 2018.
The handbag contained pension money, reading glasses, keys and groceries. Garda Michael Costello said €100 in cash was not recovered; Judge Martina Baxter accepted that Graham’s family had repaid the robbed cash.
Judge Baxter took account of Graham’s early guilty plea, cooperation with the investigation and personal circumstances when imposing the sentence.
