Amanda Daly was sentenced to three years, with the final six months suspended, for taxi robbery at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, as reported on 10 February 2017. The robbery took place on Summer Street South on 15 April 2015.

Daly pleaded guilty to stealing €700 from the taxi driver and was described as an active participant in the offence. She had attempted to tie the driver’s hands to the steering wheel, while her accomplice used a syringe during the robbery.

Judge Melanie Greally noted Daly’s severe drug addiction and difficult personal history. Daly had previously been released on bail to attend residential treatment but was returned to custody after she failed to complete the programme.
