Alan Wilson has pleaded not guilty to murdering 18-year-old Marioara Rostas.
The charge concerns her murder at a house on Brabazon Street, The Coombe, Dublin, between 7 and 8 January 2008. The proceedings were reported on 18 July 2014.
A former friend, Fergus O'Hanlon, who has immunity from prosecution in the case, testified about burying Marioara Rostas with Alan Wilson in the Dublin Mountains. He said they took turns digging a hole and that Alan Wilson pushed her body into it. He said Alan Wilson stood on her and was “dancing on her”. Asked what the purpose was, he said nothing was said.
Under cross-examination by Michael O'Higgins SC, defending, Fergus O'Hanlon admitted he was a convicted criminal. He denied being in the house while Marioara Rostas was alive and said nobody had been there when he left that morning.
The Central Criminal Court trial remained ongoing. Cross-examination was due to continue on Monday before Mr Justice Patrick McCarthy and a jury of 10 men and two women.
