Alan Wilson has pleaded not guilty to murdering Marioara Rostas at the Central Criminal Court, as reported on 30 June 2014.
Rostas was allegedly murdered at a house on Brabazon Street, The Coombe, between 7 and 8 January 2008. The court heard that she had phoned family in Romania on 7 January, crying and asking for her father to come for her.
Her brother said she told him she was out of town, had 50 cent to make the call and had been dropped 200km from Dublin. Her body was found four years later in a shallow grave in the Dublin/Wicklow mountains.
The trial heard evidence about a car linked to Wilson, bullets recovered from the house and allegations concerning the disposal of Rostas’s body. A ballistics witness said the bullets could have come from the same weapon, but could not be certain.
