Alan Boggans appeals €1.9m cannabis conviction

By Ruairí Dolan

This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Alan Boggans had judgment reserved on his appeal against a conviction for possessing €1.9m worth of cannabis by the Court of Appeal, reported on 28 January 2015. The alleged possession concerned cannabis resin intended for sale or supply at Celtic Truck Wash, Rathcoole, on 1 September 2009.

Boggans challenged the warrant used to enter the premises and argued that the trial was unfair because of issues involving CCTV disclosure and cross-examination. The Director of Public Prosecutions opposed the appeal, and the court said it would give its decision in February.
