Aidan O’Hara was jailed for 27 months for assault causing harm at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, as reported on 21 February 2018. The offence occurred at locations in Drumcondra, Fairview and Marino on 5 July 2017. O’Hara also pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.

The court heard that O’Hara dragged his former partner back into their car when she tried to escape at traffic lights. Judge Nolan imposed the 27-month term, backdated to O’Hara’s custody in July, and banned him from driving for two years.
