Adrian Smith pleaded guilty to assault causing harm and attempted sexual assault at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, reported on 11 May 2016. The offences occurred at a McDonald’s on Grafton Street on 14 June 2014.
Smith surrendered after his parents recognised him in footage broadcast on Crimecall. The court was told he had €10,000 available for the woman and had offered it as compensation.
Judge Patrick McCartan adjourned the case for a probation report and remanded Smith on continuing bail to 29 July. The judge said he was concerned about Smith’s propensity to offend again.
