This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Adam Marlowe lost his appeal against his aggravated burglary conviction in the Court of Appeal on 22 October 2019. The conviction arose from the robbery and assault of an 81-year-old farmer at his home in north County Dublin. Marlowe had been sentenced to 12 years in prison at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 6 July 2018.

The appeal concerned blue latex material recovered from the victim’s bed, with 93 per cent of the DNA profile matching Marlowe’s. The Court of Appeal found the evidence sufficiently linked him to the crime and dismissed the appeal. The report said he had pleaded not guilty to aggravated burglary, robbery of €50 and assault causing harm.
