The Supreme Court dismissed Adam Busby’s appeal against his extradition to the UK on terrorism charges. The proceedings were reported on 12 December 2014.

The appeal followed a 2013 High Court surrender order and was brought on a point of law. The five-judge Supreme Court unanimously rejected it, holding that it was not necessary to show the state executing the warrant could prosecute the offence on the same basis.

The allegations concerned hoax threats made between November 2009 and June 2010, including claims about contaminated drinking water, poisonous packages and bombs at locations in Scotland.

Busby remained on bail until the following Tuesday’s High Court sitting, where an application arising from his health was due to be made.
