This report is a localnews.ie summary based on public court reporting and records; sources are listed below.

Aaron Dunne was jailed for two and a half years for forging and using a learner permit at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, reported on 25 November 2014. The offences involved Clondalkin, Dublin and Tullow, Co Carlow, between June and November 2012.

Dunne pleaded guilty to 10 counts after using a friend’s theory-test results and replacing the photograph on the resulting permit with his own. The licence was seized, then reissued after he reported it lost. Judge Mary Ellen Ring also banned him from driving for four years for driving without insurance. The court heard that Dunne had 18 previous convictions, including other false-driving-licence offences.

This report covers an earlier stage of the case. Later developments are not reported here.
