Aaron Brady, who denies murder and robbery, was on trial before Mr Justice Michael White and a jury on 1 July 2020, when a Homeland Security agent denied offering witness Daniel Cahill anything for his testimony. The charges relate to the alleged murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe and a robbery at Lordship Credit Union, Bellurgan, Co Louth, on 25 January 2013.

Special Agent Mary Ann Wade said she asked Cahill whether he would speak to gardai, but denied promising or offering him anything. She declined to answer questions about his immigration status and said she could not discuss agency methods or briefing content.

Wade said Cahill was detained in the United States after officers found what they believed was a cannabis plant at his home, but police later informed her that it contained no buds and would not lead to a prosecution. Brady’s trial continued before the judge and jury.
