The Special Criminal Court has heard that prosecution evidence in the trial of four men accused of abducting and assaulting Quinn Industrial Holdings director Kevin Lunney is expected to conclude next week. The trial, under way since mid-May before three judges, concerns an alleged incident at Drumbrade, Ballinagh, County Cavan on 17 September 2019. A 40-year-old man identified as YZ, Alan O'Brien, Darren Redmond and Luke O'Reilly, with an address in County Cavan, have all pleaded not guilty to false imprisonment and intentionally causing serious harm. Prosecution counsel Sean Guerin SC indicated the evidence phase would likely finish within days. The court has examined mobile phone records, CCTV footage of vehicles travelling between Dublin and Cavan, and DNA samples recovered from a Renault Kangoo van. Mr Justice Tony Hunt presides with Judges Gerard Griffin and David McHugh.
